29th September saw relatives of Norman Johns visit the Ferry and take a nostalgic ferry crossing to Appledore and back to Instow. They brought stories of when Norman and even his father Freddy use to operate the ferry and reminisced with tales of being stuck on a sandbank in the middle of the river. Left to right, David Stephens, Lynda Packham and Colin Stephens. For anyone who does not know Norman Johns, take a look at the “History” Tab.
